Expats prefer to live close to a BTS (train) station, the preferred public transit of commuters in the city. Sathorn/Silom area 

Sathorn/Silom is an established neighborhood of the Central Business District. Close to the river and the large and Lumpini Park, Sathorn and Lumpini Park were the favoured residential areas for western expats for years. In Bang Rak district, there are many embassies and consulates located, such as The Embassy of France, Embassy of the Republic of Austria and The Embassy of Canada.
